Walking for a Cure: Lucas’s Journey with Type 1 Diabetes

In the spring of 2020, as the world faced the challenges of the pandemic, 10-year-old Lucas received a life-changing diagnosis: Type 1 diabetes. The fear and

uncertainty of his diagnosis were heightened by hospital restrictions, forcing his mom to wait in the car while he and his dad entered the ER, and spending four days in the hospital when people were urged to stay home. Despite these challenges, Lucas is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for a cure by participating in various events.
